And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds ofprayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints. (Ephesians 6:18)

God convicted my heart of how little I pray. If I say I'm committed to follow Christ, then my prayer doesn't really show that. How much time, out of 24 hours, is spent in prayer? Well, I'll keep that answer to myself. The pastor of a church is the Shepherd of God's people. If Satan can make him stumble or fall, then he has taken out the whole flock. I remember a story of a pastor who was attending a big conference where he is taking a major role. The night before his presentation he was naturally nervous. He checked for messages at the front desk of the hotel where he was staying. To his surprise, there was a two-page, single spaced, double sided paper full of names of his congregation members. On the end of the names was a simple message: we love you and we are praying for you! This pastor showed the message to one of his fellow pastors at the conference. As the other pastor took hold of the paper and read the last line, tears streamed down his eyes. He said, "If only my church had done that for me just once, just one!" I think we can learn a lot from that story. Our pastor was chosen by the Lord to be our Shepherd. He needs our support and our prayers! He is a blessing from God, we just have to realize it and respond properly, just like many things in our lives that have come from above and unseen.
